TRKBG is a Black-founded, women-led nonprofit organization advancing opportunity for Black women and girls through leadership, economic mobility, holistic wellness, and culturally grounded community. Together, we are building the conditions for freedom, belonging, and generational impact.

Black women and girls experience interconnected challenges that cannot be addressed through a single program or service. That's why TRKBG has built an ecosystem of culturally grounded initiatives that strengthen economic mobility, holistic wellness, leadership, cultural connection, and community support, creating opportunities that grow with participants over time.

“Getting involved with The Right Kind of Black Girl has been one of the best professional decisions I have ever made. I have had the privilege to work alongside like-minded Black women to design programs that positively impact the lives of other Black women and men in this country. Prior to joining, I had not really seen myself as entrepreneurial. Although this is something that my mother told me before, it is not something I have seen done in my family or my community. TRKBG has exposed me to ideas and given me the confidence and encouragement to pursue my own entrepreneurial adventures on my quest to financial freedom. “When I joined TRKBG, I just wanted to find friends that looked like me and experienced life through the same lens. And even then, I was still worried about fitting in or whether I would be “Black” enough—as if that were a thing. I hoped to find a friend. Literally, I would have been happy with just one new friend. After just a few months, I saw a difference in the way I walked and the way I talked. I was more motivated to take on challenges and push myself to achieve goals in areas I did not previously know about. In my search for friends, I gained a sisterhood and confidence. I even developed my leadership skills. I have been encouraged to grow and expand my knowledge base and business capacity within and outside of the TRKBG. Without this organization, I would still be afraid to step outside of my box and meet new people and accept myself fully for who I am.”

“Moving to California was already a big risk for me but once I got here I struggled with making friends or just meeting genuine people. However, since joining the TRKBG I have a support system and I have also met some incredible professional women. Many of the women in the group are just like me and we all have something in common.
